Friday 11/6, we are at our usual YMCA Stuart Ballroom location with Jessica and Bryant teaching the 7:30 lesson. 8:30 dancing is to the music you request, or you can bring your own including Swing with a ballroom and Latin variety.

The Friday lesson/dances is $3/$5, members/non-members (except for live band dances.) Tuesday "practice" nights are free for the time being. Optional membership is $10/$15 for 6/12 months. Admission and membership cover the cost of rent, equipment, CDs, building improvements and maintenance, etc. Our Friday dances start with a lesson at 7:30 PM, dancing is at 8:30. Dress is casual. All SVSDS events are alcohol and smoke free.

Beginners as well as experienced dancers, singles and couples are welcome. These are informal social dances to recorded music where most dancers mix. We sometimes call them dance "Swaps" because one purpose is to allow people to exchange Swing and Ballroom steps with other dancers - as well as to refine the steps we already know with different partners. Group and individual lessons can also be provided on request. Mostly we just hang out with new and old friends to enjoy dancing of all kinds.

Lessons are a core component of all SVSDS and Solely dances. We all delight in acquiring, practicing and helping others learn new skills that will make dancing more enjoyable for everybody. Most of our dances start with a lesson, but we are also available to share steps and pointers throughout our gatherings. Additionally, we provide occasional weekend workshops, Sunday late afternoon classes and we try to keep you informed of other nearby classes.

There will be an official policy on shoes at the YMCA. We strongly suggest you bring along non-street shoes to gently treat the new premium dance floor. These can be fancy dance shoes, inexpensive bowling shoes, home made chrome leather sole shoes, or any style that won't leave marks or scratches. Often we just dance in socks for a better feel on turns and slides.

Directions: Our new spacious ballroom is the Stuart Event Room at the YMCA Center at 1000 N. Main, just across the street from our former place at Squared Away Storage. The room is through the center doors, at the back, on the right. It's on the bus route about five blocks from campus.
