Break out the lederhosen! If you have not been to Mountain Lake for dinner during their OctoberFest season, you are in for a treat. Great food and the world famous Sauerkraut Band. More information is available at the Mountain Lake Hotel Web site. And yes, the lake is filling back up. And no, it's not full yet. But it's getting there. If beer and bratwurst is not your thing, head on up past the Hotel and take a hike to see the virgin hemlocks. It is a nice easy hike, and the trees are just amazing. These are some of the oldest and biggest trees on the East Coast.
